About Otterbeck Builders

Otterbeck Builders, Inc. began in 1988, operating from a home office for about five years. The owner (Dett Otterbeck) worked in the field during the day and would see people and do estimates in the evening. In 2003, OBI moved into a new office and showroom space currently located at 4151 US 20, Castleton, New York. They currently employ 11 people including: a full time sales person, Safety Coordinator, Production Manager, and +/- 8 Lead Carpenters/Carpenters. Together we produce between 30 and 40 jobs per year.

We specialize in the design and construction of residential remodeling projects. Types of projects we specialize in include: Additions, Kitchen and Bath remodeling, Basement finishing, Decks and Porches, Window and Siding replacement and some Home Maintenance & Repair work.

Remodeling Magazine awarded the “Big 50” to Otterbeck Builders, Inc. in 2004, our industries leading publication. The award was received in the “Team Work” category and goes to 50 new remodeling companies each year. The company continually strives to educate and excel in all areas of the business including: Sales, Design, Marketing, Production, Employee Education and Customer Service.

The Great Northeast Home Show

For over 15 years Otterbeck Builders has regularly participated in the local “Great Northeast Home Show” in Albany every February, as well as holding informational workshops at their showroom helping consumers with their home improvements projects and questions.
